Our Project Paintings

JANUARY "MISTY BEACON" (ACRYLIC PHASE)

This exciting painting begins its journey through our Painting Project session as an acrylic painting with only a hint of what's to come.  We will paint our renditions of Wilson Bickford's original painting.  Canvas for this project is 12" X 16" Wilson Bickford Signature Canvas Panel.

JANUARY "MISTY BEACON" (OIL PHASE)

The journey ends with a beautiful painting, full of life, yet with a mysterious quality as the fog rolls in from the sea.  Here is another great original from Wilson Bickford.

FEBRUARY "LAKE BIRCHES"

This project painting is a trip back in the past when there were only a few artist tools and brings the guest to realize it's not the tools, but the artist!  We will paint our renditions of Wilson Bickford's original.  Canvas for this project is 12" x 16"  Wilson Bickford Signature Canvas Panel.

MARCH "IMPRESSIONS OF A SUNSET"

Let's stretch our painting skills this month to include oil painting with painting knives and no brushes!  How fun!  This fun painting is part of Wilson Bickford's PBS series of paintings.  We get the opportunity to create our own versions.  Canvas for this project is 11" x 14" Wilson Bickford Signature Canvas Panel.

APRIL "OUT TO DRY"

A nostalgic memory back to the days when folks lived more simply.  No modern conveniences like we have today and clothes were hung out to dry!  We will paint our versions of Wilson Bickford's original.  Canvas for this project is 12" x 16" Wilson Bickford Signature Canvas Panel.

MAY "MAJESTIC MOUNTAIN"

Fear not, we are not painting this mountain with a painting knife!  Learn new ways to create the distant mountain filled with interest for viewers.  There' a surprise waiting high in the sky!  Wilson Bickford has given the techniques, we will paint our own renditions on a 12" x 16" Wilson Bickford Signature Canvas Panel.

JUNE "STREET FLOWERS"

Here's a new one from the mind of our instructor, John Heinrichs.  An opportunity to create a street scene with a spring bloom in mind on a 12" x 16" Wilson Bickford Signature Canvas Panel.

JULY "FARMLAND SUNSET"

This is a simple, yet dramatic scene set in rural America.   The Sun sets and one can almost hear the crickets begin the evening songfest.  We are painting our own renditions from a Wilson Bickford PBS scene on a 12" x 16" Wilson Bickford Signature Canvas Panel.

AUGUST "AUTUMN OUT WEST"

This is a very colorful painting from Wilson Bickford.  We will paint our own renditions of this scene which contrasts the very colorful Fall foliage and the mountains from the West against the piercing blue skies we see out here in the Autumn season.  Canvas is a 12" x 16" Wilson Bickford Signature Canvas Panel.

SEPTEMBER "AUTUMN CAMP"

Another original from our own John Heinrichs.  This one is a knife painting with the colors of fall and the camping tent, too!  Another opportunity to stretch one's wings in creativity!  Canvas for this project is 11" x 14" Wilson Bickford Signature Canvas Panel.

OCTOBER "SERENDIPITY" (ACRYLIC PHASE)

This most interesting painting comes from the creativity of John's friend, Buck Paulson, who is also a PBS instructor.  Each painting is guaranteed to be different as we start with a very wet acrylic pouring onto 16" x 20" archival canvas panel.  Plenty of paper towels to be provided on this one.  Stay tuned for the Oil Phase!

OCTOBER "SERENDIPITY" (OIL PHASE)

This phase we are completing the painting from Buck Paulson and taming the highly abstract scene created in the previous phase, by painting a vignette of a very impressionistic seascape!  Let's all have fun with this one!

NOVEMBER " MIDNIGHT CLEAR"

In this painting by John Heinrichs, we begin our journey on the dark side with a black stretched canvas.  What evolves from that will be amazing as we reminisce about cold crisp, clear nights far away from the city lights where we can truly see the beauty of God's creation.  Canvas for this project will be 12" x 16" Wilson Bickford Signature Canvas Panel.

DECEMBER "KEEPING WARM"

The cold Winter snow covered night with only the light from a street lantern of old.  Just what Wilson Bickford designed for us to end the year.  Canvas for this project is 12" x 16" Wilson Bickford Canvas Panel.
